What is face to face therapy/ counselling?

What is it?

Face to face therapy is where we meet in person, normally for a 50 minute session.  The sessions normally take place in a dedicated therapy room in Rough Close (pictured; near Stone and Meir Heath).  You also have the option to meet at  The Therapy Quarters in Newcastle-under-Lyme which has free, onsite parking and disabled access. Face to face therapy can also include outdoor therapy and walk and talk, which is in person, usually in natural space, such as a local park.

Is it confidential?

Absolutely. Confidentiality is of up most importance.

Does it work?

Absolutely.  Talking therapy has a long history of supporting people through the difficult times and helping with ongoing personal growth.   As I have been trained in integrative psychotherapeutic counselling, I can offer you a range of different types of support from lots of different approaches; it's about the right thing for you at that time.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of face to face therapy?

There is ample evidence to show that therapy works  whether you want to have your sessions in person, online or over the phone. However some people find that they prefer to meet in person so that their feel that they won't be distracted and are more likely to be able to 'open up'.  The disadvantages  are that it may me less convenient for you as you may need to travel.  I'm trained in all approaches, so it's up to you.

How much does it cost?

£45 per session. I offer a limited number of places at a reduced rate for students and those in hardship (e.g. those on low income, benefits, etc).

What the process?

I offer the first session for free as an initial consultation. Find out more about the first session and the process.  If you would like to make an appointment, please email me at hello@therippleeffecttherapy.com or you can use the contact form.
