Online counselling is the same as counselling face to face except it takes places through a web-based video tool (Zoom).
Yes. Zoom is encrypted and I operate from sound proof rooms at home and in dedicated therapy rooms and wear a headset so that no one else can hear what you're saying. It's best if you are in a private space or somewhere you can speak freely, too.
Yes. The research shows that there is real therapeutic value in online counselling and I have been trained in this method. Most people worked with their therapist this way during the Covid-19 pandemic. But you may find that you prefer therapy either over the phone, face to face or outdoors. Whatever you prefer is fine by me.
Some people find talking about their emotions less challenging online. But the real advantage is convenience - you can be anywhere you choose to have your sessions. In the car, in the park, and home or at work - it's up to you. Wherever you have an internet connection!
£40 per session for over 18s. I offer a reduced rate for students and those in hardship (e.g. low income, on benefits).
I offer a free initial consultation where you will have space to bring any issues or concerns that you’d like to address, either in counselling or about counselling itself. From this we should be able to decide if we can work together more fully. I'll ask what brought you to therapy and I will need to ask you a few questions about how you're feeling and your goals for therapy. If you think I'm the right counsellor for you, we'll also talk about the admin side, and if you're happy to go ahead, we can book the first session then. If you would like to make an appointment, please email me at email@example.com or you can use the contact form.
